Village Yarns

Where: 4895 Dundas Street West
(get off at Islington Station, take the 37 Islington Bus to Dundas Street West, walk to the west side of Dundas St. W. for about 150 meters and the store is on the south side of Dundas St. W.)

Website: http://www.villageyarns.com/

Phone #: (416) 696-2670

Feature: High quality yarns, and they have evey issue of Rowan magazines, Jaeger pattern books and many other surprising patterns (but mostly for store display only).

This is a big yarn store with everything so well organized. The yarns are placced according to their weights and styles. So when travel around the store, you would smoothly get into the novelty yarn area, aran weight yarn area, DK yarn area, lace yarn area, etc, and the gauge and price information is listed on tiny little tags, so everything is clear.

The hand knitted items dislayed here have very professional finishings. It's worth to go and just have a look on those sweaters.

When I visited this store I found that they had higher prices than the other stores in town like Romni Wools.

They have also moved to much smaller premises around the back. They seem to be concentrating more on their classes which have also moved (a couple doors down and upstairs).
